Several variables must be considered when selecting oil seals. The physical dimensions and materials will vary depending on the environment of use. In addition, oil seals must remain lightweight, compact, and exhibit high self-lubrication performance.
Purpose of an Oil Seal
Oil seals, which are also referred to as radial shaft seals, rotary shaft seals, grease seals, or fluid seals, are used to close the gaps between fixed and moving parts of mechanical equipment. They are put between moving and stationary mechanical parts to make sure that moisture, contaminants, corrosive materials, and abrasives don’t cause any damage to these parts.
Oil seals require sufficient time to solidify and cure. Premature use of equipment with newly installed oil seals can compromise the integrity of the oil seal and may damage your machine. Refer to the supplied instructions for the time frame allocated for the seal to cure.
